ADAMS COUNTY TO CONVENE A BLUE RIBBON TASK FORCE TO CREATE A TEN YEAR PLAN TO END HOMELESSNESS
The Adams County Homeless-to-Home Partnership to Release Findings on Comprehensive Study on Homeless Persons in Adams County
COMMERCE CITY, CO – The Adams County Homeless to Home Partnership (H2H Partnership) is set to release the findings of a comprehensive study on the plight of homeless persons in Adams County. These findings will be announced a public event which will take place at the Adams County Department of Economic Development at 12050 Pecos Street, Suite 200 in Westminster from 10:30-12:00 noon on November 18, 2010.
The H2H Partnership is sponsoring the event to raise awareness of homelessness in Adams County communities, as well as to initiate community dialogue on the issues surrounding homelessness and to discuss collaborative initiatives to provide solutions and relief for homeless persons.
This new report is expected to play a crucial role in the development of a formal, collaborative plan to end homelessness in Adams County. Formed in 2008, the H2H Partnership is a support network of non-profit organizations, public agencies, churches, businesses and community leaders who work together to end homelessness and to promote self-sufficiency and permanent housing in Adams County through shared responsibility and community engagement.
In late 2009, Low-Income Family Empowerment (LIFE), a member of the H2H Partnership, engaged the services of Community Strategies Institute to begin a several-month study on homelessness in Adams County. In January of 2010, the H2H Partnership led a comprehensive County-wide point-in-time homeless count. The report to be released highlights data gathered from this count and also analyzes existing services as well as gaps in services for homeless persons.
